Ancient Rome is the first time a republic started. A republic is where people can vote for what they want. We use it in America today because we get to vote for things like our president or different laws. Rome was a republic until Augustus Caesar became ruler than he turned it into an Empire. An Empire is when there is only rulers, the citizen have no say in what happens.
After Augustus changed the republic to an Empir. A Pax Romana started which is, 200 years of peace and prosperity. Augustus glorifies Rome with Beautiful public buildings. During Ancient Rome roman arches, colosseums, roads, aqueducts,and concrete were very important aspects of the Rome culture.
Roman arches were used for many things such as colosseums, bridges and it was also a symbol of winning a war. Colosseums were used for entertainment. They would fights going on between either gladiators and gladiators or gladiators and animals. Roads were important because it helped people get around faster. concrete helped with buildings it made them a lot more stronger. They also used concrete for colosseums since colosseums held a lot of people at one time they had to be built strong. Aqueducts was also important because it helped the water flow.
